Why we love it

Most “best laptop” lists are written by people whose job is the laptop. This one is for people whose job is the document, the class, the spreadsheet, or the forty tabs of research they swear they will close.

The IdeaPad 3 is the unfancy workhorse: a real keyboard, a screen you can look at for longer than a meme, and a price that doesn’t require a financing personality. We like it because it disappears into the task.

It will not make you a filmmaker. It will let you finish the thing you opened it for, which is a rarer recommendation than it should be.
