Why we love it
A kitchen can survive without a machine that asks for a water filter and a firmware update. The AeroPress Original is a plastic tube, a plunger, and a paper filter. You stir, you wait, you press. A cup shows up. The counter does not file a complaint.
We love it because the whole ritual fits in a bag. Office, hotel, campsite, the apartment whose coffee setup is a jar and a hope. AeroPress lists the Original around $40, which is a small price for a tool that does not beep and does not take a permanent parking space next to the skillet.
It will not steam milk into a swan. It will make a smooth cup in about two minutes and then rinse clean in the sink. That is the job. The job is enough.

This is the AeroPress Original coffee press, model 85A01, the compact one-to-two cup brewer (about 10 ounces). The usual kit is the chamber, plunger, filter cap, scoop, stirrer, and a starter stack of paper micro-filters. It is not the XL with the carafe.
