Why we love it
A cutting board is a personality until the onion pile gets serious. The Cuisinart Custom 14 is the bowl that takes the job: fourteen cups, a 720-watt motor, and a feed tube wide enough for the vegetable you did not feel like pre-slicing.
We love the unfancy parts. Brushed stainless, one work bowl, a chopping blade, a 4mm slicing disc, a shredding disc, and buttons that say on and off/pulse instead of launching an app. The parts that meet the food are dishwasher-safe. Cuisinart’s warranty on this model is three years on the unit and five on the motor. When we looked, Amazon.com had the DFP-14BCNY at $204.98 against a $299.95 list, in stock.
It will not replace the skillet, and it should not. It replaces the twenty minutes of knife work that were standing between you and dinner. The Vitamix can keep the smoothie. This one keeps the salsa, the dough, and the cheese.
