Why we love it

A laptop keyboard is fine until the afternoon is mostly typing and your wrists have started a correspondence. The MX Keys S is the separate keyboard for that day: low keys, a backlight that wakes up when your hands arrive, and a USB-C charge so you are not hunting for a battery the size of a coin.

We love the Pale Grey one because it looks like equipment, not a gaming peripheral that escaped a basement. It pairs with three devices over Bluetooth, or with the Logi Bolt receiver in the box. Logitech rates the battery at up to 10 days with the light on, and up to 5 months if you turn the light off and live like a monk. The model on this page is 920-011559. It is the MX Keys S, not the older MX Keys, and not the Mac-key layout.

The mouse on this shelf already earned the desk. This is the other half. When we looked, Amazon.com had the Pale Grey keyboard at $123.49 against a $129.99 list, in stock.

The longer story

This is the Logitech MX Keys S wireless keyboard in Pale Grey, model 920-011559. Logitech’s notes on this one: low-profile keys, smart backlighting, Bluetooth for up to three devices, a Logi Bolt USB receiver, and USB-C charging. Battery life is listed at up to 10 days with backlighting on, or up to 5 months with backlighting off. It is the standard layout, not MX Keys S for Mac, and not the combo that includes a mouse.

Good for

  • A desk that already has the MX Master and is still typing on the laptop
  • Someone who switches between a computer and a tablet and is tired of the Bluetooth menu
  • The Pale Grey S, if that is the color and the generation you meant

Skip it if

  • You wanted the Mac layout, a full-size numpad variant, or Graphite. This page is Pale Grey, model 920-011559
  • You wanted the mouse too. The combo is a different listing, and the mouse already has its own page here
  • You need a mechanical keyboard with a clack. These keys are quiet on purpose

When we looked, Amazon.com had it at $123.49, list $129.99, in stock. The deal link is the Amazon page (/dp/B0BKVZK4TH) with our Amazon Associates tag threepaths-20. Confirm the swatch says Pale Grey and the title says MX Keys S.
